Barleylands pulls out of festival plans
ifest-dead…
Nineteen year old Philip Hutchinson’s plan to introduce a 120,000 capacity festival to the Barleylands, Billericay next summer was in tatters after the site ruled itself out of the equation.
“PH Productions made preliminary inquiries regarding hiring our venue,” Phil Burrows, commercial manager at Barleylands, said. “But, after further investigations, we have agreed the ifestlive will not be going ahead here.”
Hutchinson had told the Southend Standard he was working with contacts from V Festival promoter Maztec, so no surprise then that the PR behind the event named Kasabian, Pixie Lott and Kings of Leon as potential performers. All of which were on the bill for this year’s V double-header. In truth, despite a launch party at Movida nightclub, W1 last week, ifestlive seems set to stay a teenage dream.
